Social Impact Activities

Our commitment to creating a positive impact on society goes beyond the traditional scope of our other projects. Each month, we actively engage in a diverse range of social initiatives aimed at addressing pressing issues, fostering awareness, and promoting social responsibility. These initiatives, conducted throughout the year, reflect our dedication to building a better, more inclusive world. Some of them are as:

Kargil Vijay Diwas

Twenty-five years ago, in 1999, the Kargil War was fought between India and Pakistan from 3rd May 1999 to 26th July 1999. The Kargil War (Also known as Operation Vijay in India) took place when Pakistani troops infiltrated the Indian-administered territory of the LoC to take over vital peaks in Kargil. During this operation, 559 soldiers of the Indian Army sacrificed their lives for the nation and reclaimed our land.

To honour their sacrifice and pay tribute to them, we collected thousands of letters for the Indian Army from children across socioeconomic strata and different parts of the nation. On Kargil Vijay Diwas, we take these letters from over 300+ cities across the nation and a delegation of I.I.M.U.N. volunteers travel to Kargil to hand deliver them and first-hand witness the celebrations. We are grateful to be able to give back to our brave jawans under the guidance of our esteemed advisor Gen. Ved Prakash Malik, the 19th Chief of the Indian Army.

International Yoga Day

For over thirteen years now and much before the international recognition given to the day, I.I.M.U.N. has endeavored to make yoga a part of every young person’s life. From mandatory yoga sessions at all our conferences in India and worldwide, to organizing yoga sessions for not-so-privileged youth, we have truly believed in the power of practicing yoga. On 21st June 2024 which is marked as World Yoga Day, I.I.M.U.N. brought the world together by hosting a day-long global connect of yogis and young people connected via social media. The event hosted 48 yoga instructors from 24 nationalities, including Hong Kong, UK, Pakistan, Canada and others. Apart from this, the organization to mark the occasion- conducted yoga sessions in 100+ cities- creating yet another record for a youth-run non-profit

Children’s Day Donation Drive

Every year on Bal Diwas aka Children’s Day, the organisation organises a pan-India donation drive aimed at providing necessities and aid to young people who do not have access to the same facilities that some of their more privileged do. These campaigns focus on providing clothes, food, and books amongst other things. A campaign run by young people, it has contributed greatly to aiding those marginalised groups across India where last-mile delivery of government programs yet prove to be challenging.
