Through workshops, tours, literature festivals, and conferences including simulations of national, regional and world bodies like the United Nations & Indian Parliament, I.I.M.U.N. provides a unique platform for students to debate, discuss and design solutions to pressing local & global challenges. From a pioneer of Model United Nations in India to now having revolutionised the concept to a Movement to Unite Nations, we bring together young minds from across schools and colleges, giving them the opportunity to develop leadership, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills while connecting with like-minded peers across the nation and the world. I.I.M.U.N. has played a major role in democratising the concept of Model United Nations in India and making it accessible to students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities as well.

WHAT DO WE DO?

The organisation is split into the following four verticals:

Building Glocal Citizens

Empowering students to explore global issues through an Indian lens via MUN Clubs, Chapter Conferences, International Conferences, a Championship Finale and other Marquee Events.

Leadership Development

Fostering value-oriented leadership and bridging the gap between academia and industry through series like Role Model Series, Born to Build and Leadership Tours.

Promoting Literature

Promoting the habit of reading in tier 2 & 3 cities through youth-focused literature festivals, tours and author series.

Social Impact Projects

Supporting marginalized communities through monthly initiatives which focus on issues ranging from combating climate change to food donation drives.

Founder’s Note

The vision when I started the organisation in 2011 was to spread the concept of one world- to build an egalitarian society by spreading the idea of India through sensitising tomorrow's leaders, today.

Little did I know that what started off as a Model UN would one day reach 275 cities and 40 countries and catapult into a public affairs platform that is a Movement to Unite Nations. With annual I.I.M.U.N. conferences in over 108+ cities and 22+ countries, the credit for whatever little we have achieved goes to the 30,000+ students who have altruistically worked and the 7,000+ students who currently volunteer with the organisation - making I.I.M.U.N. - the world’s largest youth-run non-profit organisation. Through thirty-week I.I.M.U.N. Clubs being established in schools, literature festivals, leadership tours, offline and online series, social impact projects on a gargantuan scale, and more so with doing annual 3-day events across the globe, I.I.M.U.N. has in its own way become the catalyst for spreading awareness on a host of issues that are central to building conscientious global citizens spreading Indian thought. Take, for example, Model United Nations, an elitist anglicized concept restricted to only 19 schools.

It has spread to over 1,00,000+ schools across the country, all wearing Indian clothes, simulating Indian committees and debating constructs through purva-paksha without even knowing that they are doing the same! The best part about being youth-run and having only those below 22 years of age is that the team’s naivety allows us to remain pure in purpose and maintain an ubiquitously low profile. What, however, I am most proud about is the numerous elected members of government, authors, lawyers and civil servants that the organisation has managed to produce from the ranks of those who once worked and participated at I.I.M.U.N.

In a world with increasing fissiparous tendencies, the effectiveness of global institutions such as the United Nations is fast diminishing, and a new geo-political order is on the rise. For far too long, have nations, for their own self-interest, strong-armed others. I believe that in a world where some nations are proud of being superpowers, India possesses the knowledge to being the friend and guide to unite the world. Working with the youth remains my biggest source of inspiration, and in them, I see our best hope. For the 15th year and beyond, my vision is certain- one day, with your blessings and support - we will truly create a network of ‘Indian thought’ leaders across the world that will truly unite the world!

Major Events in January

This is a summary of January 2026:

PILLAR 01 - Building Glocal Citizens:
- Organised conferences nationally in 10+ cities across the country from Kochi to Korba.
- Continued supporting 2,510+ schools to put together 3-day debate conferences.
- Enabled I.I.M.U.N Clubs in 4,500+ new schools, where we provide a 30-week curriculum and free teacher training.
- Conducted pro bono workshops in 15+ cities
PILLAR 02 - Leadership Development:
To bridge the gap between academia and industry, we conducted study tours where smaller cohorts interacted with industry leaders and visited illustrious companies.
- Leadership Tour in Mumbai,
- ⁠Economics and Finance Tour
- ⁠Tech & AI Tour in Bengaluru, students visited headquarters of global tech giants such as and SAP Labs.
- ⁠Prominent names included Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and companies such as Google, IBM, NSE, PwC, RBI, HDFC Mutual Fund, Godrej Capital.
- Hosted another insightful episode of “I.I.M.U.N.’s Global Perspective series”, featuring Nobel Laureate in Physics, Dr. Anne L’Huillier who spoke to 250+ schools in one go to further the spirit of scientific inquiry.
- Hosted Leon Panetta, 23rd United States Secretary of Defense and former Director of the CIA, as part of our monthly Virtual Leadership Talk series.
- Hosted Rani Mukerji as part of I.I.M.U.N’s Back to School Series.
- Hosted the Rajkot edition of our Role Model Series.
PILLAR 03 - Promoting Literature:
- Organised the 4th edition of the Vadodara Literature Festival, a three-day celebration of ideas and dialogue, hosting over 22,500+ students from 300+ schools and colleges, making it the largest youth literature festival in India. The festival featured 70+ distinguished luminaries such as Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud, 50th Chief Justice of India, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, 28th Chief of the Indian Army, Shri S.Y. Quraishi, 17th Chief Election Commissioner of India, along with several other eminent voices from across the country.
PILLAR 04 - Social Impact:
- We celebrated Republic Day across 25+ cities, where we taught not so privileged children about the Constitution, their duties and rights.
- During the BMC elections, we ran voter awareness initiatives to educate citizens and motivate young people to participate in the democratic process by casting their vote.
