NATIONAL

I.I.M.U.N. puts together three-day conferences to foster glocal citizenship- the Indian way, among adolescents. The inaugural day is a ceremony featuring eminent speakers interspersed by cultural elements such as Indian traditional music and dance. Speakers have included various Union Ministers, Chief Ministers & Governors, Cinema icons, academics, and ambassadors amongst others. The subsequent days involve students engaging in activities such as Yoga and Ayurveda, followed by them being divided into various committees, role-playing leaders, and engaging in discussions to solve current geopolitical, environmental, and cultural problems through an Indian lens.

Students are then requested to adopt one of our three actionable goals (plant a tree, educate someone, feed someone) before receiving a certificate.

Over the past thirteen years, I.I.M.U.N. has spread the concept of this 3-day educational extravaganza from merely four cities to over 220 cities across India, and in the year 2024-2025, I.I.M.U.N. conferences will be organized in 108+ select cities across India, impacting lakhs of students. Like everything else at I.I.M.U.N., all of this will be done by and managed by a team of 15-22-year-olds. Everything from promoting this in different schools to getting presiding officers to training students and putting together an inter-school event that your city remembers for years to come will be done by Team I.I.M.U.N.

These are some conferences for the year August 24-25.

But stay tuned for the full calendar!

If you’re interested in having I.I.M.U.N. in your city all you need to do is lend your premises!

FAQs About National MUN Conference 2025

Model United Nations India is an academic simulation of world bodies to teach students about international relations, diplomacy and world issues. India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) has popularised this concept and changed it to encompass simulations which range from world bodies to local panchayats and has incorporated India’s best practices like serving authentic vegetarian cuisine to students, yoga sessions as a part of these simulations. These simulations intend to draw the world closer through spreading knowledge and promoting the Indian concept of Vasudhaiva kutumbakam (the world is one family) and make students experience the rich culture of India.

Before 2011 Model United Nations India was restricted as an elitist concept to a handful of schools and some colleges across the country. Today after the Indianisation and democratisation of this concept by I.I.M.U.N. students at different educational levels can participate in Model United Nations India.

India MUN popularly known as Indian MUN are Indianised versions of model UN conferences, initiated by I.I.M.U.N. in 2012 through its first conference at the World Trade Centre in Mumbai with over 1000 students in attendance. These concourses are focused towards finding solutions through an Indian lens for various global and local issues through debate and academic discussions among students. These conferences are characterised by Indian cultural performances, Indian meals being served and yoga sessions mandatorily being part of the itinerary, unlike any other MUN conferences.
