INTERNATIONAL

India represents an opportunity to speak peace to power and consensus to conflict. The Father of India, M.K. Gandhi used this to unite the country and help it gain independence. This Indian thought remains central to our programs overseas. Over the last thirteen years, I.I.M.U.N. has introduced the Indian version of Model United Nations, or as we know it - a Movement to Unite Nations conference. Removing the shortcomings of the United Nations and taking all of its best practices, introducing the concept of Indian committees, and encouraging a look at global issues from the Indian lens are at the core of the organization's international mission board. Starting it is international division I.I.M.U.N. has organised programs in over 35 countries. Annually we organise conferences in 50+ countries. Below mentioned is the map with a calendar for 2024-25.

Stay tuned for more updates. Full calendar coming out soon!

Frequently Asked Questions About International

Model United Nations India is an academic simulation of world bodies to teach students about international relations, diplomacy and world issues. India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) is a prominent organisation organising these International MUN conferences. The past events of I.I.M.U.N. have seen students being part of events at iconic venues like the UN headquarters, British parliament and World Trade centres and also providing participants with an opportunity to first hand interact with the likes of the secretary general of the UN, diplomats, parliamentarians, chief justices and other notable luminaries during International MUN conferences.

Before 2011 Model United Nations India was restricted as an elitist concept to a handful of schools and some colleges across the country. Today after the Indianisation and democratisation of this concept by I.I.M.U.N. students at different educational levels can participate in Model United Nations India.

Participating in Model United Nation India benefits students in keeping themselves updated about the current happenings in and around the world, developing confidence, and expanding networking opportunities. Students can develop comprehensive skills, such as leadership, public speaking, research, problem-solving, and writing skills. Over the last 14 years students who have participated at I.I.M.U.N. include those who today are successful diplomats, parliamentarians, authors, lawyers, actors and many more.
