I.I.M.U.N. UK Study Tour 3.0

The third edition of I.I.M.U.N.'s UK Study Tour began on a proud and symbolic note as the delegation became an official part of the Republic Day celebrations at the High Commission of India in London, representing India on a global stage and experiencing first-hand the spirit of diplomacy and international engagement.

Following the celebrations, students were taken to some of the finest academic institutions in the United Kingdom. First one being King’s College London, where the students explored the historic campus and engaged in conversations ranging from higher education in the UK to student life and interdisciplinary learning, the academic journey continued at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where students were introduced to the university’s globally recognised focus on public policy, economics and international relations, and the role these disciplines play in shaping societies across the world. The delegation then travelled to the historic university city of Oxford for an immersive academic experience at the iconic University of Oxford. Students explored its renowned colleges and learning spaces and experienced the atmosphere of one of the world’s oldest centres of higher education, gaining insight into centuries of academic tradition and excellence. Students also visited Imperial College London, a global powerhouse in science-based education. The students participated in an academic session and campus tour, gaining exposure to innovation-driven learning across science, engineering and technology.

A milestone moment followed at the Parliament of the United Kingdom, where the delegation participated in an exclusive interaction with Lord Bob Blackman and Lord Karan Bilimoria. The session offered students a rare opportunity to understand the functioning of the British democratic system, the responsibilities of elected representatives and the legislative processes that guide one of the world’s oldest parliamentary institutions.

The academic exploration continued in Cambridge with an introductory engagement at the University of Cambridge. A focused session and guided academic tour were conducted followed by further interactions within the collegiate ecosystem of the university.

The intellectual core of the study tour culminated with a full day debate and leadership programme hosted at the India Gymkhana, London. Students participated in multiple structured debate sessions, deliberating on contemporary global and bilateral issues, before concluding the day with a formal certificate distribution ceremony.

The delegation also explored London through a curated sightseeing programme, allowing students to experience the cultural and historical fabric of the city while reflecting on a week of intensive academic and institutional engagements.

The I.I.M.U.N. United Kingdom Study Tour 2026 once again reinforced the organisation’s commitment to exposing students to Britain’s finest institutions of governance and education through an Indian lens while strengthening dialogue, leadership and cross-cultural understanding among the leaders of tomorrow.
