I.I.M.U.N. at United Nations Headquarters
I.I.M.U.N., in 2016 and 2017, became the first civil society organization to host events at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Just under a thousand students from across the world - some from the length and breadth of India and a few hundred from across the world went to New York to participate in these historic conferences. From debating in the UN General Assembly chambers to touring the United States, this one-in-a-lifetime experience for the delegates exposed them to the inner workings of the United Nations, Indian diplomatic services and other governance and international cooperation aspects. Beyond their debate sessions, students toured the United States, visiting various attractions across New York, Washington DC and Orlando.
