I.I.M.U.N. is the world's largest youth-run organisation that aims to bring the world closer, the Indian way. We empower the youth by enabling them to solve global problems at an individual level.
Every student that participates at any I.I.M.U.N. chapter conference follows a 3-step approach
Learn and study about different issues of glocal and national importance through video or face to face training and materials.
Assemble at school level, city level, national level & international level conferences to discuss and debate these issues. Apart from this we organise various concourses, workshops, leadership, study tours and experiential learning programs for the students.
After the academic learning we ask the students to implement one I.I.M.U.N. actionable goal to build conscientious citizens.
The vision when I started the organisation in 2011 was to spread the concept of one world- to build an egalitarian society by spreading the idea of India through sensitising tomorrow's leaders, today.
Little did I know that what started off as a Model UN would one day reach 220 cities and 35 countries and catapult into a Movement to Unite Nations. With annual I.I.M.U.N. conferences in over 108+ cities and 22+ countries.
The organisation organises 3-4 day concourses initially at a school level in 1,00,000+ institutes. Most of these institutions are now self enabled - however, we support 10,000-12,000 schools every year in organising this program. Winners from these schools then congregate in 108+ cities and 22+ countries, culminating in a finale in Mumbai/UNHQ - New York.

Step 2 - Read about the portfolio’s position on the topic you are given.
Step 3 - Read the study material that you are given.
Step 4 - Make a speaker list speech.
Step 5 - Understand the rules of procedure that are being used.
Please, refer to all the free material that IIMUN has collated for the same on our YouTube and the website.
Model United Nations India has become synonymous not just with schools but a multitude of for profit organisations that seek to commercialise what is a purely academic activity. Most MUN conferences do not have any credibility and their certificates don’t have any value preposition in universities in India and overseas. Some organisations make false claims which should be verified.
We recommend that you follow the following steps to find Model United Nations conferences in India:
Step 1 - See how long the Model United Nations India conference has been in existence.
Step 2 - See whether this is a model of the United Nations and simply aping a failed United Nations or a simulation that is fostering glocal citizenship.
Step 3 - See the speaker list not just for this conference but across the existence of the said organisation.
Step 4 - Reach out to us on any of our helpline numbers mentioned on our website in case you are confused whether the MUN is good or not.
I.I.M.U.N.’s (India’s International Movement to Unite Nations) main motive of popularising Model United Nations and providing exposure at subsidised or no cost was to build a generation of glocal citizens who understand India better. As much as some schools and non profit organisations have kept that incognisance, the joining cost varies basis the organisation that you are choosing.
Most college level Model United Nations India especially those of foreign universities have no association to the said university apart from a few students in most cases being involved. Charging high fees on the name of global exposure these Model United Nations India conferences need to be approached cautiously.
