Session with Mr. Deepak Parekh
While the announcement of IIMUN getting on board 14 of the most reputed dignitaries from different spheres of life as their Board of Advisor was the talk of the town, the leadership team of IIMUN got an opportunity to have a one on one interaction with one of the stalwarts on the Board, Mr. Deepak Parekh. This private session which took place in the HDFC Headquarters Board room on December 12, 2017 had Mr. Parekh using his life lessons to teach Team IIMUN about finance, team building and leadership. He spoke to the team about his perspective on India’s foreign policy and even went on to share a few of his personal life experiences that helped him be the person he is today. The session even had a guest lecture from Mr. Parag Shah, Managing Partner of Mahindra Partners on how to have a positive attitude towards your work.
IIMUN endsthe year 2017 by visiting 8 cities
IIMUN in the month of December saw its biggest conference of the quarter take place as the IIMUN Bhopal Conference at Delhi Public School, Neelbad, Bhopal. This conference saw more than 750 students come together and discuss a plethora of issues ranging from climate change to certain local issues. This conference saw Minister of Parliament Mr. VishwasSarang and Ambassador SudhirDeware attend the conference as Keynote speakers. The conference also adopted one of the IIMUN Goals and had all the students’ plant one tree in the vicinity of the school. The other cities that IIMUN visited in December were Kashipur in Uttarakhand, Barnala in Punjab, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Agra and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Patna in Bihar and Sonepat in Haryana. With all these successful conferences, IIMUN completed yet another year teaching student’s diplomacy.
Indian International MUN Jalgaon took place from the 5th-7th of January 2018. Being the first chapter of the year 2018, the conference was hosted in the Anubhuti School and was attended by Former Indian Ambassador and IFS, Amb. Dinesh Jain. The conference saw attendance of over 250 students from 7 schools in and around Jalgaon. There were 5 UN committees simulated in the conference and one committee simulation Lok Sabha. The Ambassador stayed the three days of the conference and gave his valuable inputs on all the topics being discussed in the conference.
